TECHNOLOGY
Technology:
CCA utilizes technology as a tool to assist in the teaching-learning process and not as a replacement for teaching or human interaction. SMART boards are utilized throughout the school to enhance lessons and provide an opportunity for student engagement and interaction. In the 21st Century, information, current events, breaking news and content of our culture, is no longer relegated to print materials but is readily available online. It is therefore incumbent upon educators to teach media literacy alongside print literacy.
Laptop and iPad carts are utilized to provide students with the opportunity to research and to interact with certain material, applications and software. Students in the Jr./ Sr. High school have the opportunity to bring their own devices to school and register to log in to CCA’s wireless network through that device. Internet safety is a priority and CCA utilizes both passive and active network security measures.
