JR./SR. HIGH SCHOOL COMPUTER SCIENCE
Jr./Sr. High School Computer Science:
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
It is our desire to equip students to walk with integrity and wisdom in the amazing age of digital growth. Though the various technology classes offered at Calvary Christian Academy, we focus on developing skills that promote problem solving, creativity, innovation, and personal expression. Our goal is that these skills will be used to help students in their future endeavors as they minister within their calling and express Christ to others.
CCA’s technology department offers a variety of classes as to appeal to the wide range of interests of our 21st-century learners. Some classes are more geared to students that seek to express their artistic talents, while others are designed for students to challenge themselves to think computationally, logically, and develop their problem-solving techniques. Additionally, students have the opportunity to become familiar with common web applications, various navigation shortcuts, and cloud computing as part of their interaction with course content. Our jr. high school computer class covers introductory computer science skills and graphic design content that can be further pursued in high school classes.
As our world is saturated with media that does not glorify God, we at CCA wish to give our students tools to express the goodness of God. “O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures (Psalm 104:24)” In Computer Graphics, Photography, 2d Animation, Video Editing, Computer Science Principles, and Web Design students are encouraged to create projects that incorporate design principles and the usage of specialized technology tools and applications. Students are given the opportunity to work with each other as well as independently to connect to learning content and build on it throughout the year. Project-based assignments and themes often encourage students to think about their faith, who they are in Christ, and the magnificence of God.
