Algebra I Honors
This course is intended for students with an above-average aptitude in mathematics. In comparison with the Algebra I course, the pacing of the course is accelerated and more challenging and real world applications problems are presented and investigated. In addition to the topics covered in the Algebra I course, this course will discuss solving linear systems, simplifying radical expressions, solving quadratic equations and cover a number of important and interesting problems in a wide range of disciplines with an emphasis on classic word problems. Students must possess a scientific or graphing calculator.
Prerequisite: 95% in Pre-Algebra or 93% in Accelerated Pre-Algebra. Teacher recommendation required.
